Basketball Recap: Cushing Gets the Win

Cushing's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bristow Pirates by a score of 59-46. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Bristow saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tj Wilson almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Bristow is 2-1 when Wilson posts eight or more rebounds, but 3-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Bishop, who posted 11 points.

Cushing's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Bristow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cushing will face off against Berryhill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berryhill has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three contests. As for Bristow, they will head out to take on Sperry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bristow is facing Sperry at the right time seeing as Sperry is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
