Volleyball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Sumter

Sumter hadn't done well against West Florence recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gamecocks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Knights. This was a revenge game for the Gamecocks: when they faced off against the Knights on Thursday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Sumter got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-22.

Sumter pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for West Florence, their loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-13.

Coincidentally, Sumter and West Florence will both be playing Blythewood the next time they take the court. The Knights will host the Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Gamecocks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
