Preview: Far Rockaway Seahorses vs. Randolph Campus Cougars
Far Rockaway has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Randolph Campus Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Far Rockaway fell victim to South Shore's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a rough 26-0 defeat at the hands of the Vikings. While losing is never fun, Far Rockaway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 407th, while South Shore is ranked 162nd).
Meanwhile, Randolph Campus strolled past Grand Street Campus with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 26-8.
Randolph Campus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden Haly, who threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Randolph Campus also got a significant boost from Yomar Perez-Peralta, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
South Shore's victory bumped their season record to 8-0-1 while Far Rockaway's defeat dropped theirs to 4-4.
Far Rockaway took a serious blow against Randolph Campus in their previous matchup back in September, falling 54-6. Can Far Rockaway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
