Basketball Recap: Middletown's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Cloverdale last Friday, Middletown came back down to earth. The Middletown Mustangs took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kelseyville Knights on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 61-50.

Middletown moved to 15-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Kelseyville, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown has already played their next contest (against Lower Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kelseyville will head out to challenge St. Helena at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (St. Helena has won seven straight at home, while Kelseyville won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
