Basketball Recap: Belmont Has No Trouble Against Gilford

Belmont hadn't done well against Gilford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The stars were shining brightly for the Belmont Red Raiders in a 61-45 win over the Gilford Golden Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Red Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory made it two in a row for Belmont and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Gilford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Belmont is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Winnisquam at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilford and Somersworth will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
