Football Preview: Pershing County Mustangs vs. Yerington Lions        
        
		
             The Pershing County Mustangs have the luxury  of staying home for another  week and will welcome the Yerington Lions at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both  are strolling into their  contests after big wins in their previous games.
 Pershing County is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They blew past Silver Stage 58-0 at home  on Thursday. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+  points.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pershing County to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Travis Donaldson, who rushed for 32 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Another rusher making a difference was  Izayuh Mcglothin, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
 Pershing County's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as  Trenton Rhodes,  Mcglothin,  and  Mcglothin picked up one apiece.
 Meanwhile, Yerington took their  match at home  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  42-14 victory over Coral Academy of Science - Reno. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Lions.
 Pershing County pushed their record up to 4-0 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Yerington, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Everything came up roses for Pershing County against Yerington when the teams last played  back in September of 2023 as the  team secured  a  50-0 victory. Will Pershing County repeat their success,  or does  Yerington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
