Volleyball Recap: Greencastle-Antrim Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Greencastle-Antrim waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Red Land Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Greencastle-Antrim took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-13, 25-13.

Kaitlyn Alvey was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight assists and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.

Alvey wasn't the only good server: Greencastle-Antrim was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

Greencastle-Antrim's victory bumped their record up to 8-1-3. As for Red Land, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greencastle-Antrim will head out to face off against Waynesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Red Land, they will take on Mifflin County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
