Recap: Hebron Hawks vs. Coppell Cowboys
The Hebron Hawks fell victim to the Coppell Cowboys''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of the Cowboys. It was the first time this season that Hebron let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Hebron lost, one person who can't be blamed is Antonio Dennis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards on only six carries.
Among those leading the charge was Edward Griffin, who threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Baron Tipton, who picked up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hebron's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Coppell, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-1.
Hebron will head out on the road to face off against Plano West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plano West is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Coppell, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Flower Mound. Flower Mound will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Coppell is ranked 17th).
