Baseball Recap: Pacific Grove Takes a Loss

If Pacific Grove was feeling good fresh off their 14-0 takedown of Greenfield last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Breakers fell just short of the North Monterey County Condors by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Breakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Condors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Pacific Grove got a good showing from Charlie Edmonds, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Edmonds a new career-low.

At the plate, Brody Edmonds was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. North Kirk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Pacific Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1. As for North Monterey County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

While Pacific Grove had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
