It was a good run, but Mary G. Montgomery unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 72-61 to the Fairhope Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Pirates are ranked 13th).

Mary G. Montgomery now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Fairhope, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Mary G. Montgomery will take on Sumter Academy in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Mary G. Montgomery's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. Fairhope and Salem will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
