Basketball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy's Run of Ten Straight Victories Now Over

If Randolph-Macon Academy was riding high fresh off their 59-37 takedown of Fishburne Military last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets were beaten by the Washington Patriots 75-40 on Monday. The Yellow Jackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-11.

Despite the loss, Randolph-Macon Academy still got an impressive performance from Noah Negussie, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points. Negussie continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Isaiah Tapere also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Washington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dj Boardley, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jasiah King, who posted nine points and eight assists.

Randolph-Macon Academy moved to 10-1 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Randolph-Macon Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-32 victory against Veritas School on the 28th. Washington has also already played their next contest, a 71-48 win against Musselman on the 28th.
