Football Recap: Clinton's Punishing Run Game Keeps Rolling + How To Watch

While Clinton put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Nipmuc Regional. The Gaels blew past the Warriors 42-0. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 29 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Naughton, who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Naughton has posted since back in October of 2024. Another back making a difference was Taetum Cassella, who rushed for 130 yards and one TD on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Clinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 457 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Nipmuc Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Clinton will square off against Mashpee at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. As for Nipmuc Regional, they will face off against Bay Path RVT at 12:00 p.m. on the 8th.
