Basketball Recap: Westhope/Newburg's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Westhope/Newburg had lost three straight headed into Friday's matchup, but Macy Bryans didn't let it get to four. The Westhope/Newburg Sioux came out on top against the Drake/Anamoose Raiders by a score of 57-46 on Friday thanks in part to Bryans, who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 14 boards, and nine assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.4 rebounds per game.

Another player making a difference was Avery Boll, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Westhope/Newburg's win bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Drake/Anamoose, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westhope/Newburg has already played their next game (against North Shore), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Drake/Anamoose and Surrey will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
