Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Indians vs. Iowa Colony Pioneers

The Santa Fe Indians will head out on the road to take on the Iowa Colony Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Fe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.

On Friday, Santa Fe needed a bit of extra time to put away Coldspring-Oakhurst. They snuck past the Trojans with a 50-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Aidan Jewell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 19 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Crable, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Santa Fe was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Iowa Colony came up short against Wheatley on Wednesday and fell 77-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (60), the Pioneers still had to take the loss.

Iowa Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Santa Fe, their record now sits at 6-9.

Santa Fe suffered a grim 87-65 defeat to Iowa Colony in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Santa Fe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
