Baseball Recap: Ganado Takes a Loss

If Ganado was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Monument Valley last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ganado lost 14-4 to the Chinle Wildcats on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 9-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Julian Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Ganado's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Ganado's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Chinle, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.

Coming up, Ganado will take on Many Farms at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chinle, they will challenge Page at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
