Softball Recap: Corning Wins Going Away Against Live Oak

Corning's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Live Oak Lions by a score of 10-6. The matchup marked the Cardinals' most dominant victory of the season.

Miley Garcia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexys Lynch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Corning's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Live Oak, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-6.

Corning will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Colusa at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Live Oak, they will host Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
