Volleyball Recap: Walnut Grove Takes a Loss

Walnut Grove was the 2-0 winner over Madison County when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell 2-0 to the Red Raiders on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Walnut Grove ultimately came up short, they really made Madison County work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 30-28.

Aniston Thompson paced Walnut Grove's offense, picking up five kills. Thompson got some help from Bella Johnson and her 15 assists.

Madison County can attribute much of their success to Kylee Treadway, who had 14 assists and four digs. That's the most digs Treadway has posted over her last eight matchups.

Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Madison County, their victory ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 15-16.

Walnut Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Peachtree Academy on the 25th. As for Madison County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Monroe Area on the 25th.
