Basketball Game Preview: Nebraska Lutheran Knights vs. Dorchester Longhorns

Nebraska Lutheran is on a five-game streak of home losses, Dorchester a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights will host the Dorchester Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Nebraska Lutheran is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Cross County on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Nebraska Lutheran was outmatched by Cross County and fell 66-39. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Cougars are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Dorchester came up short against College View Academy on Tuesday, falling 56-32. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

Nebraska Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Dorchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Everything came up roses for Nebraska Lutheran against Dorchester in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-32 win. In that contest, Nebraska Lutheran amassed a halftime lead of 32-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
