Baseball Game Preview: Sierra Vista Mountain Lions vs. Eldorado Firehawks

For the second straight game, Sierra Vista will face off against Eldorado. The Mountain Lions will face off against the Firehawks at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Vista is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Sierra Vista was able to grind out a solid win over Eldorado, taking the game 7-2. The victory continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Firehawks: they've now won four in a row.

Nathan Mayorga looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dillon Smith was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Michael Alvarado, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Eldorado dropped their record down to 11-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Sierra Vista, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.
