Volleyball Recap: Menasha Bluejays vs. Fond du Lac Cardinals

Menasha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Fond du Lac Cardinals, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2017.

Menasha was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Fond du Lac work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-13, 25-19.

Audriana Stephani paced Menasha's offense, picking up six kills. Stephani got some help from Allison Guyette and her seven assists. Finally, Isabella Stephani kept Menasha's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Leading Fond du Lac to victory were Breahna Mentink and Liberty Gessner. Mentink had 14 digs and two aces, while Gessner had 12 assists and four digs. What's more, Mentink racked up nine assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Menasha's defeat dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Fond du Lac, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-11.

Menasha does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fond du Lac, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Slinger on the 25th.
