Baseball Recap: Meyersdale Gets the Win

Meyersdale won the last time they faced Windber and things went their way on Thursday too. The Red Raiders came out on top against the Ramblers by a score of 6-3.

Ryan Sechler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Sechler wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Yoder, who went 1-for-4 with one run. Another was Nick Kimble, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The victory got Meyersdale back to even at 8-8. As for Windber, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meyersdale will welcome Everett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Windber, they will host Conemaugh Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ramblers are facing the Blue Jays at the right time seeing as the Blue Jays are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
