Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Comes Up Short

Pompano Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Everglades Gators, falling 84-38. The contest marked the Golden Tornadoes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Everglades' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lance Bailey, Jr led the charge by going 9 of 13 en route to 21 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekotah Pierre-Johnson, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds.

Pompano Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Everglades, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Pompano Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-44 loss against Coral Springs Charter on the 16th. As for Everglades, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-42 defeat against Coral Glades on the 16th.
