Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Windermere's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Windermere walked away with it. They came out on top against the Freedom Patriots by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 back in February.

Connor Fink spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Windermere saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Calzadilla, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Joey Waddingham also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Windermere is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Freedom, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-14.

Coming up, Windermere will face off against Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
