Softball Game Preview: Bluefield Beavers vs. Princeton Tigers

Bluefield is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to take on the Princeton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Bluefield is looking for their season's first victory.

Bluefield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Greenbrier East on Thursday, falling 17-8.

Taylor Mabry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Audra Rockness, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5.

Mabry wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bluefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Princeton lost 16-1 to Independence on Friday.

Princeton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bluefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Bluefield's way against Princeton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Bluefield made off with a 20-3 win. Will Bluefield repeat their success, or does Princeton has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
