Basketball Game Preview: Osceola Bulldogs vs. East Butler Tigers

Osceola and East Butler are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Osceola Bulldogs will take on the East Butler Tigers in a tournament on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Osceola saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 75-37 loss at the hands of Cross County. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Cougars are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, East Butler's undefeated season came to an end after 16 games on Tuesday. They fell to McCool Junction 53-49. The loss put an end to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season.

Osceola's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for East Butler, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 16-1.

Osceola couldn't quite finish off East Butler in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 59-56. Can Osceola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
