Softball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Comes Up Short

Deer Isle-Stonington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 25-8 to the Bangor Christian Patriots. Even though they lost, the Mariners' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Naomi Duke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Weed, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Deer Isle-Stonington's record is now 2-7. As for Bangor Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deer Isle-Stonington will welcome Piscataquis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bangor Christian, they will challenge Sumner at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
