Basketball Recap: Pearsall Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Carrizo Springs wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pearsall, they should've done a better job of containing Xavier Rendon. The Pearsall Mavericks snuck past the Carrizo Springs Wildcats with a 71-65 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Rendon, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 boards. What's more, he also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Jeremy Rodriguez, who posted 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Pearsall and bumps their season record up to 17-6. As for Carrizo Springs, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-8.

Pearsall will head out to challenge Pleasanton at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Pearsall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season. As for Carrizo Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Floresville at 12:30 p.m.
