Soccer Game Preview: Mather vs. Steinmetz College Prep

The Mather Rangers will head out on the road to take on the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Steinmetz College Prep took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mather, who comes in off a win.

Mather is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Chicago Mathematics & Science with a sharp 9-0 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Steinmetz College Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Westinghouse on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Steinmetz College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Westinghouse are ranked 74th).

Mather now has a winning record of 5-4-2. As for Steinmetz College Prep, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
