Softball Game Preview: Caverna Colonels vs. Campbellsville Eagles

The Caverna Colonels are taking a road trip to take on the Campbellsville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Adair County hit Caverna with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Colonels came up short against the Indians, falling 10-0. The Colonels have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Adreana Salvador spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Hart County hit Campbellsville with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 11-0 to the Raiders.
