Soccer Game Preview: Eagle River vs. Chugiak

The Eagle River Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Chugiak Mustangs at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagle River's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Eagle River's offense. They lost 5-0 to Juneau-Douglas last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chugiak made easy work of Bartlett on Saturday and carried off a 6-2 win. The victory continues a trend for Chugiak in their matchups with Bartlett: they've now won five in a row.

Chugiak hit Bartlett with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Meadow Lewis (2), Mary Jo Landon (2), Summer Vitt, and Arrianna Lubeck.

Eagle River's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Chugiak, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Eagle River came up short against Chugiak in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
