Basketball Game Preview: Newcastle Dogies vs. Custer Wildcats

Newcastle hasn't had much luck against Custer recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Newcastle Dogies will welcome the Custer Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Newcastle saw some tournament action back in December of 2024. They were dealt a 60-33 loss at the hands of Belle Fourche.

Sydney Pederson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Emeree Tavegie, who put up three points.

Meanwhile, Custer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-34 loss at the hands of Mahpiya Luta. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-15.

Custer's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Newcastle, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
