Soccer Recap: East Chambers' Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

East Chambers was the 3-2 winner over Lumberton when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The East Chambers Buccaneers fell 2-0 to the Lumberton Raiders on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Buccaneers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Raiders are ranked 352nd).

With the loss, East Chambers broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2-1. As for Lumberton, their win bumped their record up to 3-4-2.

East Chambers will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Liberty will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something East Chambers surely won't give up without a fight. Lumberton has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Little Cypress-Mauriceville on the 28th.
