Jordan is a perfect 3-0 against Highland since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Jordan will host Highland at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jordan's tournament run continued when they took on Madison on Saturday. Jordan came out on top against Madison by a score of 6-3.
DANIEL STROPE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, CJ SUMNER was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-2. BECKHAM LIVINGSTON was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
SUMNER wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Jordan lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Highland not only won last Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29, 2024. They put the hurt on Hillcrest with a sharp 9-1 win.
Alex Just was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other pitching news, Max Green looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Highland got a big performance out of Keegan Butler, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Butler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Zandberg, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Jordan now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Highland, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Highland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Highland, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Jordan's hitters?
Jordan took their win against Highland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-5. Does Jordan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
