Volleyball Recap: Nemaha Central Thunder vs. Riley County Falcons
Nemaha Central lost against Riley County back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Thunder took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.
While Nemaha Central was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16.
Their offense was headlined by Ali Henry and Emma Hermesch, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Kennedy Carlson and her nine assists. Finally, Hermesch was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Nemaha Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Riley County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
