Powell County proved they can win big  on Thursday (they won by 15) and  on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Burgin Bulldogs  7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The team  relied heavily on  Madison Kincaid, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.
 Powell County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .417 or higher in three consecutive  games.
Powell County's record now sits at 9-11. As for Burgin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
 Looking ahead, Powell County will square off against Morgan County at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Burgin, they will take on Thomas Nelson at 5:45  p.m.  on Monday.
