Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Diego Rivera

Jefferson is 1-8-1 against Diego Rivera since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jefferson Democrats will be playing at home against the Diego Rivera Huskies at 4:15 p.m. Diego Rivera took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Jefferson turned things around against West Adams on Wednesday. They never let the Panthers onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. The score was close at the half, but the Democrats pulled away in the second half with two goals.

They hit West Adams with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Dany Gomez, Anibal Arevalo, and Enner Velasquez.

Meanwhile, Diego Rivera came up short against Dr. Maya Angelou Community on Wednesday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Phoenix are ranked 158th).

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Diego Rivera, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-2.
