Basketball Recap: Central Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Central posted their closest victory since January 11th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Clearfield Bison, sneaking past 54-51. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Bison are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Clearfield still got an impressive performance from Braison Patrick, who posted 25 points and eight boards. Elijah Glunt was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Clearfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will square off against Westmont Hilltop at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Central has won nine straight at home dating back to last season, while Westmont Hilltop won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Clearfield, they will welcome Richland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clearfield is facing Richland at the right time seeing as Richland is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
