Baseball Recap: Leake County Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Leake County and Stringer had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Leake County came up short against Stringer on Friday, falling 20-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 last Tuesday.

Zachariah Washington was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Leake County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Stringer, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-13.

Coming up, Leake County will face off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stringer has already played their next contest (against Clarkdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
