Baseball Recap: Casa Grande Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Casa Grande ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mountain View Mountain Lions, sneaking past 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Mountain Lions last Monday, they had to take a 4-0 loss.

Boston Valdez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-6. He has become a key player for Casa Grande: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Cole Rice was another key player, going 4-for-6 with one RBI.

Valdez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Casa Grande kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Cougars are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Casa Grande now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Mountain View, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Casa Grande has already played their next match, a 6-5 win against Flowing Wells on the 11th. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Canyon del Oro on the 15th.
