Football Recap: Jailen Holmes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grapevine over Seguin + How To Watch

Grapevine fought the good fight in their overtime match against Seguin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 28-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since September 27, 2024.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jailen Holmes, who threw for 144 yards and two TDs. Those passing touchdowns were Holmes' first of the season. Grapevine also got help from Rylan Goin, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.

Grapevine's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Seguin, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
