Basketball Recap: Western Christian Comes Up Short

Western Christian lost against Fairmont Prep last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Western Christian Fighting Lancers were beaten by the Fairmont Prep Huskies 77-39. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while the Huskies are ranked 141st).

Despite the loss, Western Christian still got an impressive performance from Brian Wallace, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 19 points. That was a full 48.7% of Western Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Burdette, who scored five points.

Western Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Fairmont Prep, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Christian has already played their next game (against Whittier Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairmont Prep has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Lincoln.
