Meanwhile, Wingate came into Thursday's game having lost 13 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Zuni on Thursday.
Wingate's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Zuni between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-21.
Newcomb's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Wingate, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
