Softball Recap: Colerain Takes a Loss

Colerain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 17-7 to the Hamilton Big Blue. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Big Blue this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 back in April.

Natali McGuire made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Woodson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Colerain's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Colerain will host Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hamilton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Badin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Big Blue's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
