Soccer Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Newcastle's Winning Streak

After flying high against Oklahoma City S last Monday, Newcastle came back down to earth. The Newcastle Racers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oklahoma City S Storm on Thursday. The Racers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Storm earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Newcastle's goal came courtesy of Bryan Medrano, who's now up to two this season.

The defeat snapped Newcastle's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three matchups. As for Oklahoma City S, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.

Newcastle didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Harrah on the 13th. Oklahoma City S will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cordell at 10:30 a.m. on March 28th.
