Recap: Sandpoint Bulldogs vs. Lewiston Bengals
The Sandpoint Bulldogs's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lewiston by a score of 56-44. Given Sandpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Lewiston is ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sandpoint to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karlie Banks, who scored 19 points. The game was Banks' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brecken Mire, who scored 18 points.
Lewiston lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Breanna Albright, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Albright has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Addy McKarcher was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Sandpoint has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Lewiston, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandpoint will take on Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake City will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Lewiston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Post Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Post Falls is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.4 points per game.
