Basketball Game Preview: Boone Braves vs. Innovation Bulls

The Boone Braves will venture away from home to challenge the Innovation Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boone knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Innovation likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Boone was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 68-62 to University. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Braves still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Connor Summer, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Makauri Massey was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Innovation took a blow against East River on Wednesday, falling 66-30. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Falcons are ranked 105th).

Boone has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Innovation, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.
