Basketball Game Preview: Strom Thurmond Rebels vs. American Leadership Academy Patriots

The Strom Thurmond Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the American Leadership Academy Patriots at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Strom Thurmond came up short against Batesburg-Leesville and fell 46-34. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to Saluda on the road by a 50-34 margin.

Strom Thurmond will need focus on slowing down Bryce Newton, one of several American Leadership Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points. Jake Cantor was another key player, putting up six points.

American Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Strom Thurmond, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Strom Thurmond barely slipped by American Leadership Academy when the teams last played back in January, winning 37-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Strom Thurmond since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
