Volleyball Preview: Mt. Zion Braves vs. Maroa-Forsyth Trojans
Mt. Zion has been away from home for three games now, but on Thursday they'll finally make their return. They will take on the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Mt. Zion beat St. Teresa 2-0.
Mt. Zion never let St. Teresa on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Maroa-Forsyth had just enough and edged Meridian out 2-1 on Tuesday.
In the two sets Maroa-Forsyth was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-15, 25-11.
Taylor Crouch and Adelyn Simmons were among the main playmakers for Maroa-Forsyth as the former had ten digs and 18 assists and the latter had four kills, four aces, and a block. That's the most aces Simmons has posted since back in September.
Mt. Zion's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-15. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season.
