Softball Recap: South Windsor Takes a Loss

South Windsor had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it seven. They lost 11-3 to the Rocky Hill Terriers. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

South Windsor saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gemma Duhamel, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Rocky Hill, their win bumped their record up to 6-1. The result was nothing new for the Terriers, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

On Rocky Hill's side, Lianna Tejada and Mia Cristalli did most of the damage at the plate: Tejada went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Cristalli went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Cristalli has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ally Killoran, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, South Windsor will face off against Avon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rocky Hill, they will be playing at home against Bristol Eastern at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Terriers surely won't give up without a fight.
