Softball Recap: Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association Wins Going Away Against Bishop Mcnamara

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association picked up another tournament win on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bishop McNamara Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Madison Machotka and Marley Ryan did most of the damage at the plate: Machotka scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Ryan scored a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, Ryan posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop McNamara only posted an OBP of .294.

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bishop McNamara, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association and Bishop McNamara should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Patriots (ranked 25th) will meet Halifax Academy (ranked 165th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association 3.2, the Vikings 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bishop McNamara will square off against Woodson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (55 vs. 259).
